Back in spite of popular demand, this five-piece play avant-garde jazz punk rock and have a lot of fun doing it.

The third album from Liverpool avant-garde punksters Unstoppable Sweeties Show. Recorded, mixed and mastered by General MIDI himself (aka Whatstudio) in his beautiful church attic at St Brides - a progressive church for progressive music.

The album eschews the prog-punk method of their first two albums and instead pokes a curious nose into improvisation, noise and games.

This chaotic yet structured approach was refined on their second album with the 5-part piece 'She Wee', which has an accompanying short film on both the Youtube and the Vimeo.

The opener - 'I've Bin a Bag Bag Boy' - documents the composition of tracks 2 and 6, with real-time dice-rolling by Gareth Wyn Jones and note-taking by Probert Dean. In the background, vocalist Yash Sharma plays a broom, bassist Rob Wilkinson plays a bin bag, and drummer Fabrizio Cabriolu plays a VHS copy of Fortress starring Christopher Lambert.

'An action-packed sci-fi treat', said the film reviewer of the New York Post.

'Die' and 'Dice' are the results of this experiment, stoner-jazz dirges performed as a full rock band. Brief and haunting, we were all surprised by how melodic it turned out to be.

But fear not - there are normal songs too, or as normal as USS get. The new-waveish 'Spider Solitaire', which has a spooky video on Youtube and culminates in one of the weirdest raps ever, and 'ADHD', which is a bastard cross between death metal and avant-garde jazz.

The cherry on top is 'An Allergy to Analogy', a 30 minute improv piece which all five members take turns conducting. Shorter versions of this are a staple of live sets, where it's either a highlight or a low point (but that's improv baby!)

'Analogy to An Allergy' is a freeform epic that careers through noise, tonalism, ambience, tightness, looseness, and ritualistic chants of 'Oh my Lord Jesus', naturally inspired by the church setting.
